Identity

Function: identity (<x>) Returns <x> for any argument <x>.

identity(2);
n : matrix ([a[11], a[12]], [a[21], a[22]]);
p_n : determinant (matrix[[x,0],[0,x]] - n), expand;
at (p_n, [x = n]), expand;

Examples:

identity may be used as a predicate when the arguments are already Boolean values.

          (%i1) every (identity, [true, true]);
          (%o1)                         true

There are also some inexact matches for identity. Try ?? identity to see them.

(%o1)                                true
(%i2)
